Tereza Xavier
With her pieces, Tereza Xavier created a new language, effectively founding a new school within the ancient art of jewelry.
Tereza Xavier is an artist who moves fluidly between jewelry-making, object design, research into the sustainable use of forest-sourced materials, socio-environmental initiatives, philosophy, metaphysics, expeditions to sacred places, perfumery, illustration, writing, and the creation of iconic fashion pieces. She is a leading reference when it comes to innovation and beauty.
In 1996, when Tereza Xavier debuted in the world of High Jewelry, she had the vision and intention to explore the precious ancestral codes of the manual skills of Indigenous women and artisans of Brazil, blending them with High Jewelry. Since then, she has joined hands with these incredible women artists, forming her Dream Green Team, which today includes Indigenous artisans from different tribes and craftswomen from various states across Brazil, thereby building a truly national brand.
She contemplates nature, and upon recognizing the unsuspected richness within its simplest elements, she is moved to bring them into the realm of High Jewelry, creating unusual and valuable pieces. Through her visionary, image-based art, this eco-jeweler “surfs” nature, highlighting the urgency of environmental preservation and inspiring the jewelry industry to awaken to an eco-conscious approach—using socially and environmentally responsible sources of raw materials.
Tereza Xavier has received the most prestigious national and international awards in jewelry design, including the De Beers Diamonds International Award, the De Beers Designer Forum, and the Anglogold Ashanti Award three times. Her jewelry has been exhibited at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, Itaú Cultural in São Paulo and Belo Horizonte, as well as in major cities worldwide. Some of her pieces are part of the collection at the Gold Museum in South Africa.
Over decades of traveling the world, she studied with Shamans, Healers, and Masters from different traditions. Immersing herself in the ancestral wisdom of Indigenous Peoples, she worked closely with various Pajés in Brazil and in other parts of the world.
She is a Master Instructor in 84 healing techniques, Sacred Geometry, and Light Language, with training in Alchemy, sharing this knowledge through her pieces. She embraces Brazilianness and uniqueness, portraying in her work the example of the world she wants to live in, always focusing on the Greater Good and seeking to act as a co-creator of a new consciousness on planet Earth. She maintains a coherent stance between her personal life and her art, with Beauty as her only commitment.
In the creative process, their jewelry incorporates the poetry of this approach to engaging with the world, allowing it to transcend the everyday and, in many cases, be exhibited in galleries and museums as works of art.
